However there is still a group of players / members from all teams who intend to have a few drinks at the club and a curry in Aldridge on Saturday 16th May anyway. If you are up for this please let Carla Tranter know ASAP as she needs to book the curry house.

ALDRIDGE JUDGEMENT DAY!!

BIG DAY for the Aldridge Beach babes… returning from Bournemouth on a high, but with it all to play for at Hampstead Hall.

Yet another sunny day…the whole team feeling fab after one of the most enjoyable training sessions. Jonaldo syked up for scoring and Tina C feeling rapid. Captain C finding it hard to contain her excitement, with sudden burst of “I'm so excited” being sung within the changing room.

Anyhow…Cut a long and boring story short… Aldridge took the lead through ‘Bumped her car’ Webby who was not in the mood for any sh***y hockey. She was then passed and amazing arial pass from Jonaldo who lobbed the whole of Swansea’s defense…Webby beat the keeper then took her aggression of the bump out on the ball by firing it wide of the open goal!!!!!!

Swansea equalized, but Aldridge were playing with experience again ‘an old so called princess’ had returned from injury and we were patient and composed. Aldridge were on top most of the game, winning 50/50 balls and enjoying the game. The relief came when we went ahead 2-1 (a goal from Jonaldo).

10 mins to go and we were holding on…the heat of the midday sun taking its toll on the Aldridge team!!!

Swansea had a few chances but deep down, we could feel we had the upper hand.

Anyway… just to make the team relax… Tina C reacted like lightening to a keepers rebound and slotted the ball into the net… with Jonaldo obstructing the speed of the shot on its way in. 3-1 ALDRIDGE!!!!!!!

AND THEN….the whole team went on a rampage…ripping the opposition apart. It should have culminated in many goals, but hey WE WON AND ARE SAFE!!!!!!

BRING ON NEXT SEASON IN THE NATIONAL LEAGUE!!

GOD HELP EXETER!

Another win for the 2nds well done Joey R and Titch for the superb goals, unfortuneatly we did bring a whole new meaning to the injury bench with 3 injuries.

Thanks to the Dell Stadium staff for suppling us with their entire suppy of ice packs. Speedy recovery injuried players, we need you at weekend!!

14/03/09 :: 2nd Team :: Won 6-5 against Uttoxeter 2nds
A great performance by a 10 woman team! Some lovely magic between Joey R, Omarah, Amy P and Titch resulted in 6 goals. A good effort from the defence helped keep the score at 6-5.

Another feet-tastic game from Flo, who to start with lost the ability to move, but kept us in the game.

WELL DONE GIRLIES!

Brummie beach babes beat Bournemouth in a heated match!!!

After a long journey and a couple of games of darts on the travel down to Bournemouth, Aldridge "Beach Babes" settled in to our "friendly and hospitable" hotel. We were told off upon arrival by the night porter because of our happiness of finally reaching our destination and also the drinks machine token incident (no names mentioned), who claimed we were like “a circus act” in reception. After settling into our somewhat noisy rooms and watching comic relief, most of the Aldridge Babes drifted of to sleep, ready to face the competition on the beach the next day.

The team woke up to the lovely singing of the sea guls (nightmare!) and took a stroll into Bascombe for breakfast. The team, who knew they had to tackle the hill climb to the beach all ate healthy breakfasts and then a select few decided to sample the culture of Bournmouth and catch a bus back to the hotel. Unknowing to us "lazy" or somewhat "sensible" ones, the bus had leather seats and laminated floors!!!!!!! It was like a great feeling driving past the rest of our team mates who had decided to take the long stroll home, instead of using initiative!!!!

Anyhow… we were first back to the hotel and got ready for the Beach Babe experience. Upon arrival to the "Blue Flag" beach, it became apparent that many joggers were out as the weather was fantastic. This encouraged some of the Aldridge team to do a little bit of "bird watching" whilst walking. Ali (coach) opted for a paddle in the sea, whilst 6 year old Laura watched from the shore edge!!!

The beach babes then had a photoshoot and then had to do some aerobic training back to the cars ready for the big match.

Travelling in the car to the game was fun, plenty of warm up exercises, and vocal warm ups!

The time had come to focus on the task ahead… 3points and nothing else.

In a change of colour (white shirts and socks) the Aldridge team came out onto the pitch foaming at the mouth!!

First half started well, making some nice link up play, passing at a good ball speed etc but unfortunately about 15 minutes into the game they put an overload on the left and broke though onto goal and scored 1-0. Totally against the run of play. This was what we needed, something to give us even more reason to put in 110%. Not long after, Webbie won a short corner and Jo Walker struck the ball and Tina C AKA Donna deflected it past the keeper to equalise 1-1. Soon after Jo Walker won another short corner, same plan, play the ball into the keeper and Tina C AKA Donna scored almost exactly the same goal to put us 2-1 ahead.

Aldridge were unstoppable, beating their opposition all over the pitch, it was a great spectacle to see. At half time, we were on a high, knowing we were on target, but not complacent about what was ahead.

Soon into the 2nd half, Mandy had to make some fantastic saves to keep the ball out of the net, but Helen Parr broke away on the counter attack down the right and crossed the ball in to Tina C, who was racing in at top speed who yet again deflected the ball from the penalty spot into the left hand corner of the goal!!!!! HATRICK!!!!!!!! 3-1 Aldridge!!! The whole team was elated and really on a high. Midway into the second half Helen Davenport won a short corner in which Jo Walker converted into a lovely goal 4-1 Aldridge.

Soon after…Bournmouth decided to throw everything at us. The began to play higher up the pitch forcing us deep at times. Many shots were saved and heroic tackles made by the defence.

Bournmouth won a few short corners and put us under pressure. Sam and Donna flying out to block anything that was coming our way. We did not conceed.

Aldridge were still under pressure, trying to push and support the attack, that at times we were caught too high. Helen Parr was in agony with cramp and Donna playing with 3 toes soldiered on. We were made to pay for being too high as Bournmouth broke free and slotted 2 goals in quick succession past us. 4-3.

10 minutes to go!!!!!! Really sweating now. Mandy saves a shot that was on its way into goal, but somehow flicks it away from goal!!!!

It really helped that our supporters were reassuring us and encourage ust o keep possession and pass the ball accuyratly.

With 4 minutes to go, Carla told Jo Walker to ‘keep the ball’!!!!! As if she could hold it in the corner for that long!!!!

3 minutes to go, Aldridge win a short corner. We played it safe and held some players back, unfortiunatly it was not converted and we were under attack by their players again.

Sam managed to break down play!!!! Litrally, so we were back into position.

40secs to go…Aldridge win short corner. Panic no more, we feel its our for the taking, but fail to convert. A Bournmouth player breaks free and were under pressure again!!!!! Heart is racing and soooooooooooooo want the umpire to blow the bloody whistle. They get to our 25 and were still awaiting the noise of the whistle…but it does not come. Aldridge fly tackle after tackle and then win the ball….and then….at long last…..the final whistle!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

YIPEEEEEEE

WE WON 4-3

WHAT A GAME….WHAT A WEEKEND….DONNA GETS A JUG FOR THE TEAM (But drinks most herself!!!!)

A FAB TEAM EFFORT, WHICH WE SHOULD BUILD ON IN OUR LAST TWO CRICIAL MATCHES

WELL DONE TEAM
